The Venetian Resort Las Vegas Unveils Exciting Enhancements to the Arrival Experience as Part of Its Billion-dollar Reinvestment Plan

Sala 118, Starbucks, and Newly Designed Spaces Set the Stage for a Memorable Stay

Las Vegas, NV (December 20, 2023) – More than a year ago, The Venetian Resort Las Vegas embarked on a billion-dollar reinvestment strategy that will impact nearly every aspect of the guest experience. The latest milestone is the transformation of the guest arrival experience to The Venetian Resort. Guests will be immediately welcomed to Sala 118, an exquisite bar and lounge that embraces the spirit of Italy, a beautifully designed Starbucks, and an expanded Concierge and Luggage desk.

“Entering The Venetian Resort – whether for the first time or the tenth – sets the stage for the extraordinary,” said Patrick Nichols, president and chief executive officer of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. “These additions alongside the Grand Colonnade make The Venetian lobby more than an iconic photo spot, but a destination to be experienced throughout our guests’ stay.”

The crown jewel of the lobby transformation is Sala 118, with its nod to Italian designs, the bar evokes the romance of the 118 islands of Venice in an enchanting space with arches and vaulted ceilings reminiscent of historic cathedrals. The rich warm colors, plush sofas, and banquettes create a cozy home away from home.

The menu, thoughtfully created by Andrew Pollard, director of mixology at The Venetian Resort, features well-known Italian cocktails presented in three chapters: aperitivo – the Italian way to wind down and stimulate the palate before dinner; negroni, with several variations crafted with Sala 118’s own signature blend of vermouth and bitters, which is poured from a whimsical lion fountain at the bar; and classic cocktails featuring a modern twist, designed to capture the beauty and simplicity of the beverage.

“I am passionate about Italian culture and spirits so it’s exciting to craft a new style of bar for Las Vegas,” said Pollard. “We want our guests to feel like they are in Italy with the right mood, beautiful architecture, flavorful drinks, and exquisite service.”

Cocktail highlights include:

  • Signature – Fords Gin, Sala Signature Bitter & Vermouth Blend
  • Brando – Rémy Martin 1738 Cognac, Amaro Montenegro, lemon, coconut, and Angostura Bitters
  • España – Don Julio Primavera Reposado Tequila, Paladar Tempranillo Finished Reposado Tequila, Lustau Gran Reserva Brandy de Jerez, Heirloom Alchermes, and Casals Rojo Vermouth

A destination in itself, Sala 118 takes guests on a journey as the architecture, drinks, and hospitality transport them to the streets of Venice.

In addition to Sala 118, the lobby experience is elevated by a new Concierge desk which pulls through an Italian influence in its design and provides guests with tailored and personalized recommendations. Starbucks sits alongside Sala 118 as well. The thoughtfully designed coffeehouse gives guests a location to take in the opulence of the Grand Colonnade while savoring their perfect blend.
