BRERA OSTERIA TO OPEN IN ST. MARK’S SQUARE AT THE VENETIAN RESORT

Press Releases

From the Sidewalks of Milan to Las Vegas’ Culinary District

LAS VEGAS (Jan. 27, 2021) -- The bustling and energetic St. Mark’s Square inside The Venetian Resort is home to the new BRERA Osteria, set to open mid-February. The new restaurant is inspired by the wildly popular BRERA Ristorante in the Los Angeles arts district, which was recently named one of the world’s top 50 Italian restaurants outside of Italy.

Both restaurants were influenced by the artsy-cool Brera neighborhood in Milan Italy, known for its distinct culinary and arts scene, and a hub for design and fashion. The bohemian neighborhood is often credited for the image of Italy’s upscale lifestyle around the world, especially its lively bar and restaurant scene.  In Milan, it’s the neighborhood credited in the 1920s for bringing the social happy hour concept to the world – known as the Aperitivo Hour.

BRERA Osteria honors that very culinary movement and takes it as a source of inspiration to bring to Las Vegas a personalized interpretation of Italian cuisine that balances tradition and innovation and portrays the culinary heritage of the Italian people.

SIMPLIFIED ITALIAN SOPHISTICATION

BRERA Osteria is the evolution of a long-standing friendship of Matteo Ferdinandi and Chef Angelo Auriana, whose culinary concepts are inspired by their memories growing up in Italy.  A market-inspired chef, Angelo takes pride in using fresh ingredients of the highest quality. He enjoys searching for seasonal and exclusive ingredients through his lifelong network of purveyors, locally and abroad, who give him the opportunity of an unlimited combination of flavors that translates to a menu that is fresh, vibrant, and comforting to all senses.

Chef Angelo’s sophisticated comfort food is inspired by his childhood, where Sunday night family dinners were the celebrated meal of the week, and the table was filled with freshly picked organic and heirloom tomatoes, homemade pastas, oven-baked warm breads, cured meats, mouthwatering mozzarella, olive oils and sharp shots of espresso.  At BRERA, guests will feel like part of the family with Chef Angelo’s menu of sharable plates, freshly made pasta, risotto, extensive choices of seafood including Branzino and calamari, and, of course, prime sirloin top steak.

THE ART OF APERITIVO - THE ITALIAN WAY TO START THE NIGHT

Milan – with its fashionable Brera neighborhood – is often called the unofficial capital of the Aperitivo.  This is when local bars are buzzing, all part of Italy’s style of slowing down by socializing while drinking and eating. This “Aperitivo Hour” often takes place at the end of the workday or as a "warm up” to dinner - it’s the Italian way to finish the day, and to start the night.  While wine is common, Aperitivo Hour is also the best time to try a classic Italian cocktail, like the Seventy Five, a blend of gin, champagne, limoncello and lemon twist.

True to its namesake, BRERA Osteria features a signature Aperitivo Hour, or the best happy hour in Las Vegas, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m., with its tribute to Italian hospitality, delicious dishes, refreshing cocktails, and energizing atmosphere.

WHERE I TOAST MY FRIENDS

BRERA was named one of the top 50 Italian restaurants in the world by S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, the original BRERA restaurant in Los Angeles was given a prominent place on the Italian brands’ prestigious list of restaurants serving Italy's finest cuisine outside of Italy.
