Chef Biography

Emeril Lagasse is the chef and owner of 11 restaurants. A TV icon, he has hosted more than 2,000 shows on the Food Network. Amazon recently launched Eat the World with Emeril Lagasse. The series received five daytime Emmy nominations and won Outstanding Culinary Program. The show was a James Beard semi-finalist for Outstanding Personality of Host. In addition, he is the bestselling author of 19 cookbooks. The latest is Essential Emeril: Favorite Recipes and Hard-Won Wisdom from My Life in the Kitchen.

In 2002, he founded the Emeril Lagasse Foundation in New Orleans. The 501c(3) public charity’s mission has three goals. They aim to inspire, mentor, and enable youth to reach their potential through education. More than $16 million has been granted to children’s charities. In 2013, his hard work was recognized. Lagasse was named the Humanitarian of the Year by the James Beard Foundation.
